Mappae Clavicula is a source of information on ancient technology and a collection of recipes dealing with metals, pigments, and various chemical operations. The best manuscripts of the Mappae clavicula date from the eighth to the twelfth century. The first ones around the 7th century are believed to be translated from Greek writings from 2nd and 3rd CE.
