  • 1 1/2 oz Screwball whiskey
  • 1/2 oz applejack
  • 3/4 oz banana liqueur
  • 1/2 oz lemongrass peppercorn syrup*
  • chocolate bitters


  1. Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


*Lemongrass peppercorn syrup

2-3 stalks lemongrass
¼ cup black, lightly cracked peppercorns
4 cups of water
2 cups sugar. Chop the lemongrass stalk, not the green top.

Cook on the stove over medium heat till reduced by half. Steep for 24 hours before straining out the syrup. Double strain and refrigerate. Another option is to make lemongrass syrup only and add three splashes of Peppercorn Tincture.**

**Peppercorn Tincture

2 tablespoons peppercorns
2 oz high-proof grain alcohol or vodka

Put peppercorns and alcohol in a small glass jar. Store for 24 to 72 hours in a cool, dark place, agitating every few hours—strain and store in a clean glass jar in a cool, dark place.
