Yuzu Toddy is perfect for those cold Fall and Winter nights. Imagine sitting by the fireplace, sipping delicious, warming drinks, and enjoying a quiet night with your friends. Like any drink of the tody family, Yuzu Toddy can be made with any liquor. I used bourbon, Yuzu marmalade, lemon juice, lemongrass, and ginger in the recipe below. Lemongrass ginger syrup can be used instead of the last two ingredients. More on syrups recipes here.
Yuzu Todi
Ingredients
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 1 tsp Yuzu marmalade
- 2-3 slices of lemongrass - 1/2 inch
- 1-inch ginger slice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Top with Hot water
- a cinnamon stick or lemongrass as a garnish
Instructions
Muddle lemongrass and ginger and splash hot water in a mixing glass. Add Yuzu and stir well; add hot water to dissolve the marmalade if needed. Strain into a heat-proof glass. Top with hot water and stir. Garnish with a cinnamon or lemongrass stick. Grate on top of tangerine or orange zest.
Notes
Instead of muddling the lemongrass and ginger, use a lemongrass ginger syrup.
To make a tall drink, use 3 oz lemongrass ginger tea and serve on ice. Top with a splash of soda. Garnish with a tangerine twist.
