Nobody knows who exactly created the cocktail. Margarita is the Spanish word for “daisy,” or maybe a variation of the Daisy cocktail family.
One thing is for sure: it is a fantastic cocktail.
Margarita

Ingredients
- 2 oz 100% Blanco tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau
- ¾ fresh lime juice
- ½ oz simple syrup – optional
- Coarse salt
- Lime wedge
Instructions
- Combine the first three ingredients in a mixing glass with ice
- Shake well and strain into a chilled salted cocktail glass.
Notes
Rim the glass only on the outside; otherwise, the salt will fall into the glass and change the
intended taste of the drink.
